Cylindrical Grinding
Precision Cylindrical Grinding for Coated Components
At Taskmaster Technologies, we specialize in precision cylindrical grinding of PTA and HVOF-coated components, ensuring your parts meet tight dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements. Both PTA and HVOF coatings provide high hardness and wear resistance, which can make post-coating machining challenging. Our advanced grinding equipment and experienced operators allow us to accurately grind complex geometries, bores, and shafts without compromising coating integrity.
Key Benefits
- Maintain coating performance: Controlled grinding preserves the integrity and wear characteristics of PTA and HVOF overlays
- Tight tolerances: Achieve precise diameters, roundness, and concentricity on coated parts
- Smooth surface finishes: Optimize as-ground finishes for critical applications, including sealing surfaces and sliding components
- Versatile applications: Ideal for downhole tools, rolls, shafts, and other high-wear components
By integrating grinding with our coating processes, Taskmaster ensures components are ready for immediate service, maximizing performance, durability, and component life.
Universal Vertical Grinding
The Frauenthal rotary table universal grinder is the ideal solution for large-diameter, heavy components that require internal, external, and face grinding. This versatile machine is well suited for parts such as motor casings, gears, pumps, bearings, and turbines, serving industries including power generation, oil and gas, and marine.
A key advantage of vertical universal grinding for heavy components is that, unlike horizontal grinders, the weight of the part works with the machine rather than against it. This makes loading, positioning, and stabilizing large workpieces easier and safer. With the ability to swing diameters up to 60 inches, the Frauenthal grinder can handle most large-scale grinding applications with precision and efficiency.

Surface Grinding
Taskmaster Technologies offers advanced surface grinding capabilities using our two hydraulic reciprocating machines. We can achieve tight dimensional tolerances and near-mirror finishes on a wide range of materials, including metals and hardfaced coatings such as PTA and HVOF overlays.
Our expertise ensures precision, consistency, and surface quality, making parts ready for critical applications across all industries.
Precision Grinding Capacity
Taskmaster Technologies offers extensive grinding capabilities to handle a wide range of component sizes, geometries, and materials, including metals, PTA, and HVOF-coated parts. Our equipment and experienced operators ensure tight tolerances, smooth finishes, and efficient turnaround for both production and repair applications.

Super-Finishing & Polishing of Coated Components
At Taskmaster Technologies, we provide precision super-finishing and polishing for components with PTA, HVOF, and other hard-surfaced coatings, delivering mirror-quality surface finishes where required. Surface finish is critical for enhancing wear resistance, reducing friction, and ensuring proper sealing and performance in service-critical applications.
We utilize a combination of vibratory-style super polishers and conventional diamond belts, pads, and polishing pastes, allowing us to tailor the finishing method to the coating type, component geometry, and required surface tolerance. This approach ensures consistent results across complex shapes, internal bores, and external surfaces, while preserving the integrity of the coating.
Key Benefits
- Achieve mirror-quality finishes on hard coatings
- Reduce friction and wear in moving components
- Preserve coating thickness and metallurgical properties
- Enable tight tolerance and precision fit for sealing or mating surfaces
Whether for downhole tools, industrial machinery, or precision mechanical components, Taskmaster’s finishing expertise ensures that your coated parts meet exacting specifications and perform reliably in the field.
